Cinemalaya 2007

26Jul07

Our school was able to invite Cinemalaya this term again thanks to Paeng and the Student Council. *clap clap*

We got to watch 4 (or was it 5?) independent films this time.

Anyway, at the beginning (before the showing time) everyone was in chaos! It was 10am when all of a sudden hoards of high school students flocked the entrance to the auditorium. Too bad only 1 student council member was present. She was all alone dealing with all those… err… impatient kids. To add to the insanity, a school that the SC invited came too early! They were supposed to arrive in the afternoon but nooooo…. they didn’t even have a professor with them so we could try to reason out. A friend of ours was also tasked to go to Quezon City to pick-up 2 directors, who… err… directed the films… But nooooo…. we assume they went primadonna and decided to just go to our school by themselves… urk.

Almost 300 students were inside the auditorium when , in fact, only 250 can be accommodated. Some decided to stay on the stage instead.

SHOW TIME.

God, how annoying can these high school students be? They kept screaming and laughing and cursing and freaking out whenever there was a horror scene!!!! It was exaggerated pa! The girls behind me were all making pa-cute and stuff… hindi naman! Idiots. Don’t they realize that the directors were also there watching? It’s as if they made an error in directing the films – as if scenes were open for misinterpretations. Idiots. Idiots. Idiots. Argh.

Overall, I enjoyed watching the films despite the idiot high school students. I learned something about planning events such as this: always think that your client is stupid enough to make idiot decisions. Plan ahead. Think of Plan B-Z.
